Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary Swank), a young
female amateur who aspires to prove her worth by becoming a successful
boxer, is taken in by Frank Dunn (Clint Eastwood), a down-and-out
boxing trainer. One of Frank's previous prize fighters, Scrap (Morgan
Freeman), who lost the sight in his right eye during fight, now works
as a cleaner in his gym. It is Scrap who convinces Frank into training
Maggie for the time being.
