 300
is a highly successful 2007 historical fantasy film adapted from the
graphic novel 300 by Frank Miller. Although the novel is riddled with
cultural and historical errors, it loosely depicts the heroic stand by
the Spartans at the Battle of Thermopylae and the events leading up to
it from the perspective of Leonidas I, King of Sparta. The film is
directed by Zack Snyder with Frank Miller attached as an executive
producer and consultant, and was shot mostly with bluescreen to mimic
the imagery of the original comic book.
