Fantasy Stuff. The Barbarians

Conan

Conan the Barbarian (also known as “Conan the Cimmerian,” from the name of his homeland, Cimmeria) is a fictional character often associated with the fantasy sword-and-sorcery subgenre (also known as “heroic fantasy”). He has been credited with being the most famous fictional barbarian, and is indeed one of the best-known and most universally recognizable figures in modern popular culture. Created by American writer Robert E. Howard in 1932 via a series of fantasy stories sold to Weird Tales magazine, the character has since appeared in licensed books, comics, films, television programs, and video games… contributing to his long-standing popularity. Conan the Barbarian is also the name of a Gnome Press collection of stories published in 1954, a comic published by Marvel Comics beginning in 1970, and a film and its novelization in 1982.

Beware this mighty conqueror! Sculptor Tony Cipriano used artist Andy Brase's visual design of Kull as reference, and we think fans of Robert E. Howard, comics art, and sculpture will agree that his powerful and regal interpretation of King Kull makes for one of the finest mini-Busts in quite some time. This limited edition statue stands roughly 1:6 scale. Limited edition of 1,200 pieces.

Conan The Barbarian

Conan the Barbarian
Oh great… someone made Conan angry. Now we're really in for it! Among the world's mightiest heroes, Conan appeared in one of the longest running and most important comics magazines of heroic fantasy, Savage Sword. Dark Horse, in conjunction with Conan Properties, proudly announces the first in a series of top-shelf sculptures of the greatest Robert E. Howard characters, discovered by many in the pages of Savage Sword. Conan appears here as a magnificent, action-packed bust that measures 6 1/2-inches tall x approximately 8-inches wide. He's armed to the teeth (see them bared?) with sword and arrow-pricked shield, and displays that fearsome intensity for which Conan is known. He's already mad, so don't rile him any further. Add him to your cart before he really gets upset! Limited edition of 1,200 pieces.
